L-Glutathione (GSH) 98% is a polypeptide composed of the three amino acids glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. The substance is ubiquitous as it’s naturally found in all cells of the body. Thiol groups are reducing agents, existing at a concentration of approximately 5 mM in animal cells. The l-glutathione supplement reduces disulfide bonds formed within cytoplasmic proteins to cysteines by serving as an electron donor.
